What TO Know
Fish Stix will supply everything you need to have a good time and a successful day on the water, but there are a few things you should prepare for ahead of time. Here’s what you need to know before coming aboard.

Fishing License
Anyone over the age of 17 will need a fishing license. Michigan's annual fishing license is valid from March 1 of a given year through March 31 of the following year. Annual and daily licenses are available for purchase on the Michigan Department of Natural Resources website.
What to Bring
-
Cooler
After we clean your catch we will need somewhere to put it so you can take it with you. Of all the things you bring make sure you don’t forget your cooler!
-
Sunglasses
The water reflects light which can be hard on your eyes. Wearing sunglasses will help, especially polarized sunglasses.
-
Comfortable Clothes + Shoes
It goes without saying that reeling in fish can be work, so it’s best to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Lake weather can be variable so it’s best to wear or bring layers.
-
Sunscreen
UV rays reflect off the surface of the water, increasing the odds of sunburn. We recommend sunscreen as a lotion because spray-on sunscreen can leave chemicals on equipment that can prevent fish from biting.
-
Refreshments
Feel free to bring your choice of food and beverages. Alcoholic beverages must be consumed responsibly and not in violation of the law. Do not bring marijuana. The Great Lakes are considered federal waters and by federal law, marijuana is still illegal.
-
Camera or Phone
What better way to remember your trip than by capturing a few photos/videos of your experience? We would be more than happy to take photos during your trip, just ask! Please be careful with any devices you choose to bring aboard. We are not responsible for accidents.
